GYM Manager/Trainer
Originally from Glasgow, Scotland, I spent 23 years working in events and communications. However, my passion for sports and fitness led me to pursue a career in personal training.
Fitness Journey
After years of working out and staying active, I decided to formalize my passion by obtaining a fitness qualification. I enrolled in college to earn a qualification in Principals of Exercise Science that included group exercise and personal training. This was the beginning of my journey as a fitness instructor.
Teaching Experience
I started by teaching Zumba classes once or twice a week, which quickly grew into a full schedule of five classes a week. To add variety and challenge, I introduced MetaFit HIIT classes, providing more diverse workout options for my clients.
Moving to the U.S.
Ten years ago, I moved to the U.S. and chose to continue my journey in fitness rather than returning to the events industry. I began teaching classes at various gyms in the area, Zumba, HIIT, bootcamp, bodyconditioning to name a few, in addition to working with personal training clients, where I’ve been able to share my passion and help others achieve their fitness goals.
Where I am now!
Six years ago, I joined Spenga as one of the first instructors at the studio. I loved the workout so much, and the results people were achieving, that I decided to focus exclusively on Spenga, eventually becoming a part owner and general manager of the studio. Today, I run the studio and teach classes, and I’ve also added assisted stretch therapy to our services, enhancing the support we offer to our members.
My passion for fitness and athletic performance began in high school while working at Baseball USA, where I helped guide fellow athletes through sport-specific workouts. It was there that I fell in love with movement and performance training, which led me to pursue a career in the fitness industry.
I went on to play college softball while studying Exercise Science and Kinesiology. After college, I completed courses with NESTA and NFPT, attended various workshops, and began working in gyms. During this time, I also coached high school softball and middle school volleyball, basketball, and softball. I served as the off-season conditioning coach at The John Cooper School, helping student-athletes build strength, confidence, and resilience.
In the summers, I worked with Memorial Hermann’s athletic training program, focusing on sport-specific performance for athletes of all levels.
Over time, I became deeply involved in nutrition coaching—creating customized meal plans to support clients’ training goals. Before having kids, I also ran a personal meal prep service for individuals looking for healthy, tailored meals. Though I eventually took a step back to focus on family, my dedication to wellness never wavered.
Today, I bring my experience, education, and energy to every session—helping clients build strength, confidence, and sustainable habits that support a strong body and mind.
